Midway Hollow, a Place to Call Home

Midway Hollow, one of Dallas’ top neighborhoods, has been Ann Jane’s home since 2006 when she bought her first house, a cozy 1600 square foot, three bedroom, two bathroom cottage that she outfitted with love and attention. Five years later, this guy (me!), a single East Texan, came knocking. Before long, we were engaged, married and expecting twins.

When our girls were born in 2014, Draper Custom Homes (Formerly Draper Construction and Land Development) operated from the aforementioned “cozy cottage,” AKA the Clover House as it was situated on a tree-lined street (Clover Lane) in Midway Hollow.  Quite literally, I worked in our primary bedroom on a TV tray while our kind caregivers loved the girls a mere 15-feet away in the living room. Cozy, right?

We look back fondly on those Clover House days, but you probably know where this story goes—we needed more space. After two years, we built our first (personal) home, aptly named Clover House 2.0 (also located on Clover Lane). It featured all the modern amenities a new family craves–storage, storage and more storage. (And as is typical for a builder, we moved again in 2019–just streets away within Midway Hollow to a home that truly reflects our personalities.)

It’s been noted that Midway Hollow strikes the perfect balance between suburban tranquility and urban accessibility and we couldn’t agree more. The neighborhood homes reflect the city’s vibrance and diversity, so you’ll see cozy cottages, remodeled ranches and new residential homes in modern, contemporary, transitional and traditional styles.

While the aesthetics of our custom homes have evolved greatly, our love for Midway Hollow and residential home building remains the same. Since the early days, we’ve built dozens and dozens of custom homes for our friends and neighbors–each reflecting their own style and personalities.

Through the years, we’ve learned what Dallas families want most in a neighborhood and ultimately their home.

  1. Community: Our clients are drawn to Midway Hollow for its sense of community as neighbors are frequently outside, walking and waving hello if not hosting a gathering.

  1. Convenience: Midway Hollow, our beloved tree-filled neighborhood, is situated in Northwest Dallas close to all major highways as well as attractions, NorthPark Center, Central Market, private schools and your favorite restaurants, Jose, Neighborhood Services and Drakes

  1. Customization: When building a home, individuals and families truly want to make it their own. From architectural layout and design to aesthetics (paint, windows, flooring, wallpaper) we love helping clients bring THEIR vision to life. (Want a fully outfitted and claw-worthy cat room–sure thing!; sound-proof music room—we’ve got you! No joke, these have been real client requests.)

Walking with my family, passing homes we’ve built for neighbors brings me tremendous joy and will certainly never get old. If you find yourself in the market for a new home and potentially a new neighborhood, give us a shout. Draper Custom Homes has become a leader in residential construction, and in Midway Hollow.  We’d welcome the opportunity to work with you– and moreso, it would be great to call you a neighbor.
